  • What I am Loving Wednesday!

I discovered the What I'm Loving Wednesday! link on a blog I love to read, Ramblings of a Suburban Mom. She got it from a blog called, this kind of love. I think, in our very negative world, it's important to spend a little time focusing on things we love. This kind of exercise puts our mind in a positive place and - for me - puts me in a better place to work. Positive views, positive outlook, positive day. Give it a try!

    • Holiday teas. I am the biggest critic of how early we celebrate Christmas every year. I hold out until I see Santa in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade before I even think about decorating or playing Christmas music. I'm a freak about this. Then I took a trip to Teavana yesterday. (I'm Debbie, and I'm addicted to Teavana teas.) Um, yes please I would love to try the White Chocolate Peppermint Rooibos tea. And you have an Orange Chocolate Sweet Spice Herbal Tea? Don't mind if I do. Heck, I'll even sing along with Winter Wonderland while you measure some out for me. Oh, dear Lord, what has happened to me?? (Yes, wrap it up please in the beautiful Christmas tin. It just wouldn't be the same without it.)

    • Really great deals. Since we're already talking Christmas, I will admit that I can't pass up a really good deal, and lately a few of the places I shop very regularly have had some unbelievable sales and/or coupons. And I've been able to get them from the comfort of my own home. If this keeps up I won't have to worry about the uproar of stores being open on Thanksgiving Day (something I am TOTALLY against, by the way), because I will be done with my shopping. (OK, that's probably not really going to happen, but a girl can dream, and I am getting a good jump on it for a change. :)
    • Modern Family. I know that I'm a little late to this party, but I didn't start watching Modern Family until it went into syndication. This is a show that leaves me saying, "Dang! I wish I wrote that!" And I can't make it through an episode without laughing out loud. That can't be said for most sitcoms these days. I laugh embarrassingly loud. Seriously, this is one funny show.

    • I recently posted somewhere that I had figured out that Siri might be the closest I ever come to having a minion. On a whim I ordered a new case for my iphone and it was recently delivered. Well, Eldest Daughter makes fun of me a little, but I like carrying my new minion with me. It might not fit into my pocket well, but for right now, it makes me smile, and that's enough.

Well, that's it for me. What are you loving today?

Jack Reacher. I know I'm late to the party, but when the Jack Reacher movie was made last year, I knew I wouldn't see it without reading the book first (maybe it's weird, but that's just the way I roll). Since my TBR pile is humongous and I did that whole "starting a business" thing it took me quite a while to get around to it, but on our annual OBX trip this summer I finally read THE KILLING FLOOR and loved it. Of course then I found out that the Jack Reacher movie was not based on the first book. This brings me to my second problem. I don't care what you say about books being stand alone stories, if there is a series of books, I have to read them in order. So it looks like I have eight more books to go before I can watch the movie. With my schedule that might take a while. Good thing I am loving Jack Reacher.

Parenthood. I avoided this show for a very long time. No reason. It just didn't scream - "Watch Me!" - to me. Surprising, really, because I love Lauren Graham (i am a Gilmore Girls junkie). But eldest daughter kept telling me I should be watching this and I fought it for as long as I could until last fall when I gave in and watched all four seasons (gotta love Netflix and Hulu). I would laugh and cry and couldn't stop most times from just going on the next episode. Unfortunately, I finished when the season finished last year and had to wait for this year. But it's back and just as great as I remember. Writers should watch this show. The characters are wonderfully developed, the relationships are increcibly real and the dialogue feels virtually unscripted. So glad it is back, and often a little tempted to go back and re-watch all the past episodes over again.

a good cup of tea. I am truly a tea addict these days, and Teavana is it for me. These days I am loving Acai Matetini, Caribbean Calypso and Mango Mate Pu-Erh Punch. But I'm thinking about heading back to pick up some Pumpkin Spice Brulee before Fall is over.

that the DH, both daughters, one boyfriend and I were able to go watch the Buffalo Bills play - AND WIN! While I am so excited that we've finally moved to Miami, we are - and forever will be - Buffalo Bills fans. I thought going to the game would be a treat for my DH, but it was such a fun day for all, that we've decided to try to make it an annual event.
